In the 5th of October, 2016 , Ho Chi Minh University of Sciences orchestrated the Opening of School Year. We gladly welcome 58 freshmen from the Bachelor of Science in Management with a major in International Business collaborated between HCMUS-VNU, Vietnam and Keuka College, USA and 26 Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences with a major in IT Service Science collaborated between HCMUS-VNU, Vietnam and Auckland University of Technology (AUT), New Zealand
In this occasion, ITEC gladly welcomed the presentatives of cooperative universities, lecturers from all of the teaching faculties and attendances of 58 freshmen from both
Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences with a major in IT Service Science and
Bachelor of Science in Management with a major in International Business. The Ceremony occurred not only in a grandiose atmosphere but it was also homely. Last year, there was 78% of students qualified English requirements (from Intermediate Level), 24 students were fully qualified to attend IELTS training classes and 11 students had the IELTS certificates (from band 6.0).
First-year-students will learn and be experienced in an international environment with lectures taught by lecturers from both New Zealand and the USA. These programs fully focus on the connection between technical knowledge and pragmatic application (Experiential Learning). This is what makes ITEC students begged to differ from others and entices them to become high quality students for enterprises in the future.

Professors, lecturers and students are full with joys in the Opening of School year
In his speech, Associated Professor Dr Vu Hai Quan emphasized the true value of knowledge to all students. “Knowledge is the most valuable asset in one’s life. Money will be gone after we use it. Recourses will be over after we exploit them. However, the more we use Knowledge, the more enlighten we get. By saying “Use”, I want to address to you all about modesty, self-learning, keeping learning non-stop, knowing how to put these knowledges into material of creating a whole new knowledge. By doing these, you shall contribute value to your families and our societies.”
By attending the Opening of School Year, students also witnessed rewarding results of the former generations. This included 26 graduated students from Cycle 6 (Program of Computer and Information Science) with 100% IELTS certificates. They also protected successfully their R&D projects in English. 92% of these students were excellent students and 75% of them had jobs before they even graduated
