In the 6th of August 2015, the New Zealand delegations, led by Mr. Steven Joyce, Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Minister of Economic Development, Minister of Administrative Reform and Minister of Science and Creativity will visit the universities of HCMC, along with Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Director of HCMC National Universities and leaders of the universities from HCMC..
In this visitation, the Minister witnessed the Signing Ceremony (MOU) between the University of Sciences and Auckland University of Sciences, New Zealand. AUT is a public university with the highest pace in development. AUT is always in top 500 universities worldwide. This ceremony shall contribute in enhancing and developing in education, training and researching between HCMUS and AUT.

HCMUS and AUT signing MOU
The Minister also took part in the Graduation Ceremony of the Bachelor in Information Technology Sciences – joint program between HCMUS and AUT, NZ.
Since 2008, this program has trained over 110 IT bachelors, Science Services major, a brand new aspect in IT. It mostly focuses on developing and managing frameworks. All of the bachelors landed jobs in many companies. This is an anecdote in successful international program. The program is triumphant because it uses both strengths from the universities: strength in the foundation training from HCMUS and strength in advance and cutting edge technology from AUT. Especially, students are also encouraged to continue to study in New Zealand via annual scholarships.

This visitation of the Minister is an activity honoring the educational relationship between New Zealand and Vietnam. It is also a discussion on a suitable orientation for both countries in the following years.
